I run because I can.
I run because it makes me feel like I can fly.
I run because I like to hear my the steady rhythm of my feet hitting the pavement.
I run because I can forget the troubles on my mind.
I run because it's something just for me.
I run because others can't, or won't or are too afraid to try.
I run because I feel amazing when I'm done.
I run because I want to stay fit and healthy.
I run because I want to.
I run because I can.
Today I'll run the same 5K I did last year at this time. The weather is unpredictable {hot and humid, sunny and thunderstorms} and I actually hope it rains because I love running in the rain! When I first signed up for this race my goal was to beat my first time, but now, because of the weather my goal is to get to the finish line!
Do you run? If so, why?

i've been wanting to start! maybe i will now that my son is in prek for a few hours!
I've always admired the bounce of a runner. I don't bounce, I jam...every joint in my body aches, just in walking fast.
Enjoy your 5K and hope you reach your goal.
Love the picture! I'm not much of a runner but I'm trying my best to get into shape. My goal by the time I turn 30 (Nov.) is to run a 5k. I'm currently doing the couch to 5k program.
I love to run, because it's my time! I love to run because it feel good to sweat! I love to run, because it shows my daughters the importance of having a strong, healthy body! I love to run, because some days I feel like a gazelle!
I wear Saucony shoes too! :)
I run because I never thought I could! :) I always hated the idea of running - always had bad knees - always said I would NEVER run.. & then I did it.. & loved it... who knew?! haha!
Good luck on that 5k!!!
FYI - I also wear Saucony shoes... :)
I run because it makes me feel so free! It also gives me time alone with my thoughts, and I always feel wonderful when the run is over. Kind of re-energized mentally!
Good luck on your run today!
Yes I do run...it all depends on what time of day it is. I prefer to do it at about 6pm, with a large dog at hand. He is like my personal trainer. hehe
Great poem!!
